For the first time ever, an afterhours, site-specific theater festival is unfolding at the Page Museum.
The FLASH Festival of short plays is the invention of Chalk Repertory Theatre, a Los Angeles–based artist collective of six women that specializes in bringing classical and contemporary plays to unconventional spaces. The September festival features five new 10-minute plays each weekend — and each work will use a different part of the museum as a backdrop. It’s a dramatic platform for actors, who could expound and gesticulate in front of a giant mastodon or the Fishbowl Lab, or in the tree-filled Atrium.
