This spring we celebrate the achievements of women in paleontology by inviting you to join us for a special “girls in science” version of Adventures in Nature camp—“How Girls Museum”. How Girls Museum is a two-day camp on April 17-18, 2019 for girls in grades 3–6, held at La Brea Tar Pits. The Tar Pits hold a treasure troves of fossils that tell us about the past, and is a great place for girls to pursue their interest in paleontology by learning from our stellar female scientists! Come explore your future as a scientist by discovering the past!

Teen Program

La Brea Tar Pits invite curious and motivated teens to join us for our Teen Program's debut season! As part of the first cohort, ten 13- to 16-year-olds will work behind-the-scenes with expert staff from the Tar Pits to explore the stories of the Tar Pits, and create a free "teen-only" event in celebration of the what they discover. With this program, we aim to provide our participants with a positive and supportive network to explore their interests in the natural world, and an experience that stands out on future job and college applications. The program season will run from November 2018 to March 2019 with meetings every two weeks.

The deadline for 2018-19 program application has passed. Applications for 2019-20 will be available here in Summer of 2019.
