-
Does my school group need a reservation?
All school visits should be booked 3 weeks in advance to ensure availability. If you have a last minute request, we'll do our best to accomodate your group.
-
What if I’m an LAUSD School?
If you’re taking LAUSD transportation, please book through the district School Journeys office at (323) 342-1342. (If you are LAUSD but taking public or personal transportation, please indicate that in your application).
-
What is the adult to student ratio?
We require one chaperone for every ten students. Due to capacity limitations for certain programs and exhibits, all of your chaperones may not be able to participate if you exceed the recommended 1:10 ratio.
-
Are there a minimum or maximum number of students?
We require a minimum of 10 students for a school visit, and there is no maximum provided we have space available.
-
How far in advance should I make my reservation?
Request a reservation early for the best selection of possible dates and times. Registration opens August 15 for the upcoming school year. Spring dates fill early, as do our special programs, offered in the fall and winter.
-
Can we store lunches inside the museum?
Unfortunately, we don’t have any storage facilities in the museum. Lunches should be left on the bus.
-
Where can we eat lunch?
Classes may picnic in the surrounding park. Take this opportunity to see the Lake Pit, find asphalt seeps, and, of course, roll down the hill!
